Data Protection

ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) may collect and use my personal data for any or all of the following purposes:

  • Performing obligations in the course of or in connection with its provision of the goods and/or services requested by me;
  • Verifying my identity;
  • Responding to, handling, and processing queries, requests, applications, complaints, and feedback from me;
  • Processing payment or credit transactions;
  • Sending marketing information about goods or services including notifying me of marketing events, initiatives and other promotions;
  • Complying with any applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines, or rules, or to assist in law enforcement and investigations conducted by any governmental and/or regulatory authority;
  • Any other purposes for which I have provided the information;
  • Transmitting to any unaffiliated third parties including its third party service providers and agents, and relevant governmental and/or regulatory authorities, whether in Singapore or abroad, for the aforementioned purposes; and
  • Any other incidental business purposes related to or in connection with the above.

ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) is committed to maintain confidentiality of all personal information at all times. STECA undertakes not to reveal trainee/sponsoring company information to any 3rd party (other than the funding-related agencies and/or authorized data intermediaries by ST Electronics (Info-Security) without prior consent from the course participant/ sponsoring company.

Registration

Registration is confirmed only if training grants are submitted onto skills connect system (applicable to Singaporeans/ Permanent Residents) and payment is received within 14 working days of registration and/or at least 10 working days before the course start date.

ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) reserves the right to offer place(s) to other applicants if no payment is received by the stipulated deadline.

Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis and will close when class is full.

Cancellation/ Change of Dates

A request for change in training course shall be deemed as a cancellation request of the course originally registered for. The below cancellation charges shall apply.

A written notice of cancellation shall be given at least 10 working days before the course start date in order to qualify for a 50% refund. No refund shall be given if notice given is less than 10 working days.

A written notice of replacement shall be given to ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) at least 10 working days before the course start date, with the name and identification number of the replacement participant.

An administrative fee of S$50 is charged for each replacement. For a written notice of replacement given less than 5 working days before the course start date, an administrative fee of S$100 shall be charged.

ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to unforeseeable circumstances. All course schedule, dates and venues shown on STECA’s website are subjected to final confirmation.

In the event that ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) postpones the course for any reason and the course participant is unable or unwilling to attend in on the rescheduled date, you will receive a credit for 100% of the contract fee paid. You may use this credit for another ST Engineering Cybersecurity (STECA)'s course to be mutually agreed with ST Electronics (Info-Security) Pte Ltd, which must occur within one year from the date of postponement.

Except as specified above, no credits will be issued for cancellations. There are no refunds given under any other circumstances.

ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of a substitution, alteration or cancellation/postponement of the course.

ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) shall assume no liability whatsoever in the event this course is cancelled, rescheduled or postponed due to a fortuitous event, force majeure, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of this course impracticable, illegal or impossible. For purposes of this clause, a fortuitous event shall include, but not be limited to: war, fire, labour strike, extreme weather or other emergency.

Companies sending employees (Company- Sponsored)

Government subsidies are available for Singaporeans/ Permanent Residents. In order to be eligible, please update the company’s profile via www.skillsconnect.gov.sg/web/guest/applyforcompanyprofile.

Please submit your training grants 30 days before the course start date. Upon receipt of your training grant submission, ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) will issue the invoice. In the event that the submission was not received by SSG’s skills connect system, ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) will be eligible to receive the full course fees from the company.

Self-Sponsored

If an individual qualifies for funding under the Workfare Training Support (WTS) scheme, please submit a copy of any of the following documents such as WTS notification letter or Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) payout notification letter to ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA).

Training allowance is also available by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Funding Matters (Where applicable)

For SSG funded courses, participants/sponsoring companies are required to pay nett course fees (less the funded amount) at the point of course registration.

All participants/sponsoring companies registering for courses funded by the government agencies are bounded by the terms and conditions as set down by the relevant government agencies.

In the event that the trainee/sponsoring company fails to meet any of the requirements set under the funding scheme (as stated below or otherwise) resulting in the trainee’s/sponsoring company’s funding application claim being rejected by the respective funding agency, the participant/sponsoring company is liable to pay full course fee to ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) or to the relevant government funding agency:

  • Companies are registered or incorporated in Singapore;
  • Course participants are employees who are either Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents;
  • Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and sit for all relevant assessments;
  • Participants who have completed training and assessed to be competent will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) which can be generated electronically known as e-cert;
  • Participants must successfully obtain a Statement of Attainment (SOA) in order to be eligible for 100% of the claimable grant amount.

In the event of not turning up on the assigned assessment dates and no prior arrangement with ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) to reschedule assessment within a month from the scheduled assessment date, the course participant shall be deemed as “Not-Yet Competent” (NYC). The applicant’s company shall pay ST Engineering Cybersecurity Academy (STECA) the full course fees.
